Habakkuk 2:2 – I Might Step on Some Toes…

Okay, I might step on some toes today, but we need to talk about Habakkuk 2:2.

Let’s be real—this scripture isn’t some golden ticket for you to grab a notebook and start manifesting your dream life. God is not a genie, and we’ve completely missed the point.

I get it. We love feel-good scriptures. But let’s actually break this one down the right way, and I promise to make it as simple as possible.

This Is Not About Your Vision—It’s About God’s Vision

Keyword: GOD-GIVEN.

Not our own selfish desires. Not "Oh, I want this and that."

There’s nothing wrong with wanting things, but we need to check ourselves—is it aligned with what God wants for us in this season?

Let me give you a real-life example…

My Plans vs. God’s Plans

Growing up, I knew I was going to be a graphic designer in NYC. My professor said I had the talent, and I believed it. I had my whole life mapped out—"I’m about to be one cold designer."

So, naturally, I grabbed my metaphorical "vision board" and started "writing the vision."

But here’s the problem:

👉 God never said that.

👉 God never confirmed that plan.

👉 God wasn’t in it.

And that’s exactly what we miss—DID GOD SAY IT?

What Habakkuk 2:2 Really Means

This verse wasn’t a command for us to write down whatever we want and expect God to make it happen. It was God’s response to Habakkuk.

In Chapter 1, Habakkuk had some hard questions—he was frustrated, confused, and wondering why things were the way they were. And instead of ignoring him, God answered.

So, let’s ask the real question:

What is GOD asking YOU to do?

And let me keep it 💯—you might not like the answer. But you will get the answer you need.

I Never Planned to Start a Writing Ministry…

Honestly? This was not in my plans.

But I’m so glad God redirected me because this journey has stretched me in ways I never imagined.

It’s made me:

✅ Study more
✅ Pray more
✅ Do things I didn’t feel qualified for

Yet, God reminded me: "If I called you, I will equip you." And day by day, I see why He asked me to do this—even though it took me almost three years to say yes.

(Sorry, God… my bad. 😬)

What You Need to Do Today

If you’re serious about following God’s will, here’s what I want you to do:

Pray. But not just any prayer—get real with God.

Say something like:

"Lord, I know what path I’m walking on right now, but I want to do YOUR will, not mine. I want to make sure I’m aligned with what YOU have for me because I know your plan is better than mine."

Be honest. Be open. You may not like the answer, but obedience brings rewards that are worth it.

God has opened my eyes to so many gifts I couldn’t see because I was too focused on just my art.

So, let me ask you—what is God calling YOU to do?

Final Thoughts…

You might feel unqualified. You might feel like it’s too late.

But I’m praying that God gives you the same grace He gave me—to walk in obedience, even when you don’t have it all figured out.

I dropped a simple breakdown of Habakkuk 2:2 below. Read it, pray on it, and forgive me if I stepped on your toes.

But you needed to know.

Love you all. ❤️

PS. Here’s that scripture breakdown:

Habakkuk 2:2 – Breakdown (The Simple Version with a tiny bit of Hebrew)

So, God responds back to Habakkuk and basically says:

1. "Then the Lord answered" (וַיַּעַן יְהוָה - Vaya‘an YHWH)
👉 God isn’t ghosting Habakkuk—He actually responds, showing that He hears and sees what’s going on.

2. "And said" (וַיֹּאמֶר - Vayomer)
👉 God’s about to drop some serious wisdom. Pay attention.

3. "Write the vision" (כְּתוֹב חָזוֹן - Ketov Chazon)
👉 "Bro, write this down!". God tells Habakkuk to document the vision—because it’s important and meant to last.

4. "Make it plain on tablets" (וּבָאֵר עַל הַלֻּחֹת - U’baer al ha’luchot)
👉 Don’t overcomplicate it. Make it super clear—like, easy enough for someone scrolling to get the message in two seconds. Also, writing it on tablets? Basically the ancient version of putting it on a billboard.

5. "So that a herald may run with it" (לְמַעַן יָרוּץ קוֹרֵא בוֹ - Lema‘an yarutz korei bo)
👉 The goal? Make it go viral. Whoever reads it should be able to run with it—aka, spread the message fast. No confusion, no drama—just straight-up facts.

The Simple Summary of This Verse

God is saying: "I see the chaos, and I have a plan. But you need to write this down clearly so that everyone can get it and share it. No cryptic messages—make it obvious."

It’s kind of like when you want people to actually read and share something—you keep it simple, clear, and straight to the point. This verse is all about communication, clarity, and speed.
