I Didn’t Want To Let Go: But I’m Trusting The Bigger Plan
Today was unexpectedly emotional for me.
I received a message on Facebook from a former colleague—a teacher at the school I previously worked at in Denver, CO. She shared how much I was missed and relayed a touching message from one of my students who said they love me.
Reading her words was like opening floodgates; memories of one of the most fulfilling jobs I've ever had came rushing back. Unfortunately, due to my daughter's health issues, I had to step away from a role that brought me immense joy.
My heart aches when I think of the bonds I formed with those children and the what-ifs that linger. What might have been if circumstances had allowed me to continue?
Yet, in all things, I strive to align with God’s will, trusting that He knows what He’s doing. Even when doubts surface and questions remain unanswered, my faith tells me that everything will eventually be okay.
The Challenge of Letting Go
Personal Attachment: The deep connections we make often make it harder to let go.
Unanswered Questions: Why do good things get taken away? Why do plans have to change?
Emotional Turmoil: The heartache from leaving a loved job can feel overwhelming.
Faith in the Face of Uncertainty
Life sometimes feels like a series of taking and giving. We endure losses and face hardships, questioning the purpose behind our pain. I’m reminded of an image I once saw online—a little girl clutches a small teddy bear, while Jesus stands in front of her, holding a larger one, gesturing with a tender "trust me."
At times, we may think, "God, this was perfect, why take it away?" But even as we grapple with our limited understanding, God is preparing something greater, something perfectly suited for us.
Our Limited Perspective: We see only a part of the picture, not the whole canvas.
God’s Greater Plan: Behind every loss, there is potential for greater gain that we might not immediately see.
Are you going to Trust Him to give you something bigger and better?
Trusting the Process
Our thoughts are not His thoughts, and as we wrestle with this concept, we must trust Him wholeheartedly. He knows what He is doing, and His plans for us are crafted with infinite wisdom and love.
Letting Go: Trusting God requires us to let go of what we think is best.
Embracing New Beginnings: Every ending is a chance for a new and better beginning.
God’s Promises in Scripture
Throughout the Bible, there are numerous verses that remind us of God’s faithfulness and His plans for our welfare. Here are a few to ponder:
Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Romans 8:28 - “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Taking Actionable Steps in Faith
Daily Prayer: Stay connected with God through regular communication.
Scripture Meditation: Spend time daily meditating on God’s Word.
Community Engagement: Share your journey with a community that uplifts and supports each other.
Conclusion: Holding Onto Hope
In the face of loss and change, let’s hold onto our faith. Let us remember that what we see is not all there is, and what we have is not always what’s best. Trust in Him, for He is always working behind the scenes for our greater good.
