Be Real….Can You Still Thank Him?
Even when you don’t see the answers, when you don’t see what you want to see... can you still thank God?
God took me to Habakkuk 3. I know a lot of people run to Habakkuk 2:2—the famous "write the vision" scripture. But let’s be real, that scripture wasn’t even about personal vision. (That’s a whole other message for another day!)
But today, God led me to Habakkuk 3:17-18, and this one hit different:
Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! (NLT)
I read this while watching my daughter go through pain.
I read this while navigating a ministry God told me to start two years ago, still waiting for answers.
I read this while struggling to see change.
Yet, I still have to be thankful.
When You Don’t See What You Desire…
Will you still be joyful? Will you still thank God?
Because here’s the thing:
Joseph was thrown into a pit before reaching the palace.
Moses wandered the wilderness before stepping into his calling.
Jairus had to wait while Jesus healed someone else first.
The woman with the issue of blood had to press through the crowd after years of suffering.
We don’t always know why God allows delays, but we do know He has the power to change things in an instant.
So why doesn’t He?
What If The Process Is Protecting You?
Would an instant breakthrough really benefit you? Or would it leave you unchanged?
Sometimes, waiting isn’t about the situation—it’s about what God is doing in YOU.
Right now, if you don’t see things shifting, it’s probably because God is changing what you can’t see.
And I know, that’s not what you want to hear. You want to hear:
"God is doing a new thing! There’s a 24-hour turnaround! Shabó!"
But what if that turnaround takes 24 months? What if it takes 2-4 years?
Will you still thank Him in the process?
Strength in the Waiting
Habakkuk 3:19 says:
The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights. (NLT)
Another translation puts it this way:
The Sovereign Lord gives me strength. He makes me sure-footed as a deer and keeps me safe on the mountains. (GNT)
Even in the waiting, He is your strength. Even in the unknown, He is keeping you safe. Even when you don’t see it, He is working on YOU—from the inside out.
This one was a tough one today. But I need you to know: God is with you in the deepest and darkest valley. Even when you don’t see what you want to see, He is right there beside you.
Can you still thank Him?
